The Common Market is committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control or keyboard-only navigation.

Our Standard

We use the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as our target for this website. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and easier to use for everyone. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and while we work to meet this standard, some content may not yet fully conform.

What We Do

  • Review our pages with automated accessibility testing tools, including axe and Google Lighthouse, on phone, tablet and desktop screen sizes.
  • Work to improve page titles, heading structure, text alternatives for meaningful images, and ways to skip directly to page content.
  • Work to improve keyboard navigation, focus visibility and form labeling as part of our ongoing accessibility efforts.
  • Consider color contrast and the size of links and buttons as we work toward our accessibility target.
  • Use automated testing to help identify accessibility issues as we add or change website content, and work to address issues we find.

Known Limitations

Some parts of our website are provided by other companies or in other formats, and we do not fully control their accessibility:

  • Online ordering, gift cards and catering orders are handled by third-party services (ChowNow, talech and ezCater).
  • Embedded content such as Google Maps, our Untappd beer lists and links to Instagram.
  • PDF documents, such as catering menus and job descriptions: some PDFs may not yet be fully accessible. Please contact The Common Market for an accessible alternative or format.

If third-party content is difficult to use, please contact us and we will provide the information or service another way, such as by phone or by email.
